Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between companion care and home health care?
Companion and homemaker care is non-medical: companionship, light housekeeping, meals, errands and reminders. Home health care is skilled medical care (nursing or therapy), usually ordered by a doctor. We provide non-medical services only and are happy to coordinate with your loved one's medical providers.
Do you help with bathing, dressing or toileting?
No. Under Florida rules, homemaker and companion providers do not provide hands-on personal care. If your loved one needs that level of help, we'll gladly point you toward a licensed home health agency.
How quickly can services start?
After a free consultation, we match a caregiver and set a schedule that works for your family. We'll give you a realistic start date on the first call.
Is there a minimum number of hours?
Call us to talk through your needs. We aim to keep scheduling flexible, from a few hours a week to more regular visits.
How do families pay for companion care?
Most families pay privately. Some long-term care insurance policies cover non-medical in-home services; we can provide the documentation your insurer asks for.
Will we have the same caregiver each visit?
For ongoing schedules we work to keep the same caregiver, because consistency and trust matter — especially for loved ones living with memory loss.
